Comics

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 1:25 PM
I have been reading the comic "Orion" and I have remembered how complex Masamune's comics are. This has made me want to make another comic myself. While I would like to use the designs of Masamune I am in no way as skilled as him. Hell half the artists at Marvel or DC aren't as good as him. So I'm going to have to make do with what I know.

In his comics Masamune draws the backgrounds in his panels, as opposed to other manga-ka who draw the backgrounds in single, larger panels. It is also worth noting that he draws quite an amount of detail. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes him months to complete a comic. His backgrounds, however, don't always look so detailed; sometimes he just doubles the lines.

To make a comic, if I actually want to, you need to make up a story. And I'm not good with stories. Again, Masamune is good in that department. I'm guessing that with "Orion" he studied Buddhism, Taoism, and various sciences, thoroughly. Then he thought up a setting and said, "Okay, how can I mix this up and bake a delicious, science fiction cake?" Reminds me of what Tolkien did with his novels. However he didn't have to deliver a final product every few months, and Masamune doesn't have to think up elven languages (as far as I know).

I try to do the best I can, but sometimes it doesn't work out in the end. Nonetheless, I strive to do what is right. Plus I like drawing, anime, reading, and writing. I have lived in Texas for 12 years and are trying to get some form of education.

Hah. You know I'm psyched for NMH 2.

It sucks. I've been trying to cut videogames out of my diet, but with that, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and Metroid coming out, there's no way

Got a favorite No More Heroes character?

Usual or not, Shinobu is an all around badass. I hope she's in the sequel with her robot hand or however the hell she did that.

She'll have a killer hand or something. If you know Goichi Suda she'll look awesome.
